Circa 1929 Coach William Alexander, coach for the Yellow Jacket Football Team at Georgia Tech, began to develop an idea for a student organization, the mission of which would be to promote Tech's history and customs, as well as to cultivate a sense of school spirit and to generate excitement for Georgia Tech athletics amongst the student body.
